These strings are more turkish, but they do work well for arabic tuning as well.

thanks Sam
I knew something was tricky. I put them on my oud and then I noticed the notes every string was to be tuned for optimal results. only they are verry
good with a arabic tuning.

Be careful with D'addario strings - the last time I checked they had a very high newton tension for the desired pitch so you might damage a lightly
constructed oud!

your right Lee they require quite a bit of tention to reach the disered pitch. I have them on a arabic oud that has a shorter then usual scale 59cm
about. So its not soo bad. But I felt something was wrong when I put them on an other that is 61 cm, So I am shure they are intended for a turkish
oud. Only I dont think there aware that there even is a difference so they dont mention it.
Too bad.
I always thought that if a compagny like d'addario would market oud strings they would take some time and do some research on the instrument, not that
it would take extensive research to find out about the 2 main types of oud.
Only it seams there aware of the traditional turkish tuning. B E A D.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I have this data for D'Addario for 60 cm string length tuned C (32N) F (36N) A (37) d (39N) g (22N) c' (24N)
I believe the way I got this was by converting tensions that D'Addario provides on their packaging (they use some really high tuning). If these
numbers are right, they are no higher than what we have with Aquila or Pyramids

Iam not a physics major Sam
but If you want to verrify your data, there is a conversion chart available on D'addario's site, when you go to the oud strings there will an link to
it on the bottom right of the page.
cheers
