Ekinim Harmonim Yok/Nanne Sooyou/Efkere
I posted this a year or so ago, but if anybody happens to know the lyrics of Ekinim Harmonim Yok, I would appreciate a copy. It was a Marko Melkon
song--not sure if he wrote it or not. Others must have recorded it as well, I am am just not aware of other versions.
I am also looking for the lyrics to Nane Souyou--I am sure this is not how it is spelled, but you guys get the idea. Nor-Ikes, Chick Ganimian, and a
bunch of others recorded it.
Finally, there is a Turkish song about the village of Efkere, which is northeast of Kayseri. I have never heard the song, don't know the name of it,
and have only heard about it. If anybody happens to know anything about it, please let me know. The village is now a part of Gesi. I am not looking
for Gesi Baglari, however (although that's a beautiful song). I am looking for a song that specifically mentions Efkere. Many of my grandparents
were from this village, so I really want to find this song.

Sorry Amos,
I heard the song long time ago in US and I think I played couple times with Chick or George Migirdichian. Never heard it in Turkey. I don't know the
words. It is probably from an old record recorded in US by an Armenian or Jewish oud player from Turkey. It is what we call "a keyf song" usually
played by old timers.

I could not find the lyrics anywhere.
I am not sure which private recording you are referring to. I know I have the old 78, which featured Chick, and the live Chick recording from Cape
Cod that came out on cd a few years ago. Other than that, I know I have a live Udi Hrant unreleased version of it from Detroit, somewhere, and some
various live recordings of it. I don't think I have heard the private recording, but it certainly sounds interesting.
I wish I knew more about the Efkere song. I am not even all that certain of its existence. I have been told about it by 3 people so far, and I am
not so sure how reliable this information is. I have seen the village spelled as Evkere, as well (but it is definitely not Everek or Evereg, which
was south of Kayseri). It could be that memories have faded over time. I know that the old-timers from this village were familiar with Gesi Baglari,
which is the adjacent town (and which has now absorbed Efkere), but I personally have never heard a song specifically about Efkere. And yet I am told
it exists, in Turkish. I may never know the answer on this one. I guess an oud site isn't the forum for this anyhow. I actually have a website on
the village, in Turkish and English, http://www.Efkere.com.

I don't know Turkish, but I know of the song Amos is referring to. So, I am posting this just in case it triggers somebody's memory.
The chorus goes something like this. Again, guys, I don't know the language, so I know the following is way off. And, hopefully I am not writing
something that I shouldn't.
The chorus sounds something like this:
Ask (with the cedilla under the s) kani ama
Sezi le kama
Sakun al danma
Hepsi Yallandir
Turkish speakers are probably scratching their heads, because I am sure a lot of the above are not even words.

I am sorry. The words is not for the song that you mentioned on the other trend which you put Bardezbanian's recording of it. I went back and listen
it again.
I played that song many times with Armenian oud players like Chick, Berberian, Mirijanian and many more. If I remember correctly the words they sang
were in Armenian not Turkish and it is an old song.
The lyrics I wrote above belongs to a different and relatively new song. I new the composer. He recently passed away. The song you were asking is in
Hicaz and 8/8 Duyek. Jonathan's song is in Sultaniyegah and 10/8 Curcuna.

The lyrics I posted, though, are for Amos' song, just in case anybody else knows. They must be similar to Dincer's new song, but they are for Amos'
song, as well. I know, they probably don't look like words, but that is generally what they sound like, just in case it seems familiar to somebody.

sorry i dont have the turkish diacritical marks but you can fill that in from listening to the song. for example i wrote "s" instead of "sh" just as
in turkish but i didnt have the cedilla.
incidentally, allan gel which marko also did is from the same movie, same composer, also originally sung by suzan yakar. on the suzan yakar disc they
are flipsides of each other, ive never seen the melkon disc so i dont know about that.
