Can someone comment on what kind of wood this is? I figure it's not walnut...

It could be Bubinga if it's pink and it could be padauk. Some Philipine mahogany is a pinkish color. Is this the oud you are having problems with buzzing?

No, although it does resemble mine. This one I was thinking of getting for my kid brother who expressed interest in learning the oud. But since I never know if he;'s gonna throw the thing away after a day I was thinking to get something not too expensive :)

mine is walnut.
