mp3-al bardezbanian
Here's a clip of an oud player, Al Bardezbanian (aka Gardner). He's an Armenian-American, and lives in Maine.

Hi Brian
Great MP3 - thanks for sharing it. Do you have any more detailed information about the artist or any CDs he may have produced?
This also gives me an excuse to post one of my favourite tracks played by an Armenian oud player, H. Aram Gulezyan:
H. Aram Gulezyan - Mevlevi Chefti
Does anyone know anything more about this tune or have any sheet music for it? The CD insert calls it "a dance melody, indigenous to
Kurdistan", but I read somewhere else that it is a sufi melody (hence the name!)
Best wishes
David

I think you might be able to order it from the Center for Cultural Exchange:
http://www.centerforculturalexchange.org/
they released it. It's a good album, with some original compositions, some Armenian tunes, Turkish and Bulgarian tunes as well. Al also plays
Clarinet and Qanun.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the great audio files. Brian, any news on Al's website. I know he used to have one, but I couldn't find it for the life of me?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, Al's website has disappeared. I'm not sure why. it used to be bardezbanian.com.

Hey Brian,
Yeah, that's too bad. I think he's a great musician. Hopefully he'll get it up again soon.
Take care,
Mike

Take care,
Mike | What kind of oud does he use. It sounds like a Turkish oud, but I don't know. Do you know who
makes it? It's got a good robust tone yet crisp in the higher register.

I know Al. He plays mostly Kyvelos Ouds, but he also plays Nahat and Manol. I attached a picture of one of his ouds. A very fancy one, no doubt. They
all sound great.
