Arabic rythms

wassup fellas...

I have been looking for a set of digital files of arabic rythms to use and play along on oud.
Samaiis, longas and all kinds of other rythms.

I know someone discussed this before hand but I couldnt find it in the forums.
any leads would be wonderful.

Hi Samir,

I use Wizoo Darbuka to produce loops and then load the wav files into a Digitech Jamman looping pedal (6 hours of loops on a 2 GB Compact Flash card.)
With the Jamman, it is possible to switch between loops with a foot pedal. So, as in the case of a Samai, you can have a 10/8 loop next to a 6/8 loop and seamlessly switch between, while playing.
Unfortunately Wizoo sold their Darbuka software to another company and it is now discontinued. You may be able to pick it up on eBay. It is not a perfect product, but AFAIK it is better than any other available method.
If you can't get Wizoo Darbuka, it may be possible to record the output of an oriental keyboard. I heard a new Roland oriental keyboard recently and the drum samples were very good.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Greg

This site has midi rythm generator and bunch of prefabs ready to go. I think are some samples of a real tabla you can use as well.

Hi all
For those who want to buy Wizoo Darbuka, I got it from NOVA Musik for less than US$90, it usually sells for US$ 230 , and yes its an original disc with the manual and it registered online just fine ... here is the link

http://www.novamusik.com/search.aspx?type=Search&mid=0&keyw...

Cheers everyone
