Bouzouk
Are there any bouzuk players on this forum? I would like to ask a few questions about the instrument before I attempt to get a Sukar bouzuq.
Thanks!

I have one, but I'm not sure I'd consider myself a buzuq player yet (or actually, I'm pretty sure I don't consider myself one yet!)

That sounds really nice! I really like the sound of the bouzuq
because it sounds like a cross between an oud and a saz. Thanks for posting those pictures.
Is that a four string bouzuq? I found a seller in Michigan that sells Sukar ouds and bouzuks for really good prices: http://www.palmyrami.com/index.php?productID=534
I am curious if there are any quirks or little problems with the instrument in general. I know it does not have as wide range as the oud. I believe
the tuning is (low to high) Cc-gg-cc, right? I have also been told that the action is not as high as a Greek bouzouki. Is that also true?
Thanks!

the one I have is a 2 strings, traditional arabic bozok. I am not familiar with 3 strings bozok. Yes it's GG-CC tuned. As for the other issues, greek
bouzouki I don't know it howerver I would go and get the sukar bouzouk. From the picture it looks good.
Good luck

Thanks for the heads up on that. It is good to know. I do know another guy from Colorado (he was here recently on a visit) that will start selling
Sukar ouds soon and I asked him if he could get some quotes for me (since Mr. Sukar will not return my e-mails ).
