hi hama
buzzs may come from different problems in different zone of the oud:
-in the bridge: height of the strings too low
-behind the bridge: in the part of the strings from the bridge and the end of the bowl where are tied
-in the fingerboard: when it's not flat, with hollow
-in the nut: ruined or no well made grooves and also poor material of the nut (usually bone and hard, hi density wood like ebony is used to avoid
problems)
-problems whit rosettes not well glued to the face
-problems in the pegbox: when strings are touching each other using a wrong pattern in the pegbox you may have this problems, look at this: http://www.oudcafe.com/stringing_and_tuning.htm
-problems whit face: one of the braces under the face unglued, maybe the most rare case
Anyway these problems may happens more with a cheap oud, and when you say that you have "just purchased an Iraqi oud, made by Mohamed Fazil" I have a
bad feeling about.. remember that Mohamed Fadel is one of the best oud luthiers that is died years ago, his genuine ouds cost a lot and there are a
lot of fake ouds on the market, for example you can see an ebay seller from england that continue to sell these fakes fadel with an orrible sound
(just click on the link to youtube video)
Ale.

Many Thanks Ale, as far as i know it is Mohamed Fazil oud, there is a certificate inside it and i have showed it to Ehsan Emam( a great Iraqi oud
Player and teacher in Uk) and he confirmed that,
I am waiting for the strings to settle hopefully, if the Buzz still there then i have to look for a different solution ( which i dont have a clue
what that will be )
but thanks for your help
