Hi,
I'm going to be in Chicago for a bit the middle of July. Anybody out there in Chi-town? I'd like someone to look at my oud, because there's a
ringing/buzzing in the strings driving me nuts. My regular teacher/repairperson whom I could ask is out-of-town.
Anyone there? (I'm really going to be a bit north.)

Salaam Ibn Sina,
There is a Luthier who specializes in building high quality violins in that area. His name is Gary Rickman.
I contacted Gary a couple of years ago to fix one of my instruments. Ironically, it had the same problem you are describing. He did a very good
job.
