anyone try this maqam modulation?

was practicing last night, and came across this:

Nikriz ->Nahawand on G - > Hijaz -> Nawa' athar ->Hijaz or Hijaz Kar on G

Hi Stefan :wavey:

Yes, kind of sounds like one of my improvisations in G minor. Dont mean to sound disrespectful to the maqam but there are many ways of seeing your modulation and if there are no quarter tones involved there is little point in dismissing western music theory. Its jamming in G minor with a connecting phrase selection around G, D, and C with complimentary accidentals. Enjoy your playing.

Best Wishes, Charlie

Hi norumba,

I already mixed these maqamat but I put a really light touch of Hijaz. Just to evocate the maqam, otherwise Hijaz take the highlight of Nikriz (or Nawa' athar).
