Oud concert in East Tennessee
Hey, all,
For those of you within the Southeast, there's a upcoming concert by Iraqi oudist Rahim Al-Haj at the University of Tennessee. As with most
concerts here, it should be free.
Iraqi Music in Times of War, performed by guest artist Rahim Al-Haj, Iraqi composer and Ud player, 7:30 pm Oct 8, UT Music Hall auditorium. Sponsored
by UT School of Music. http://www.music.utk.edu/Concerts.html
Mr. Al-Haj will also be taking part in the Global Symposium on Multicultural Music on October 6-9, 2004. This will be held at UT, as well. I think the
cost is around $145.00 for the event.
Here's a link to Mr. Al-Haj's web-site:

If anyone from the forum is planning on going to the concert, get in touch via e-mail. It's always a pleasure to meet other oud players!
Cheers,
William

Thanks for the heads up. I live in Nashville, but
I will gladly make the trip. I have "The Second Baghdad," and I think it's outstanding.

Hey, Todd
Do you know of any teachers in Nashville? I actually emailed the Nashville Islamic Center, but got no reply. Thanks.
