fixing a floating bridge
Is it possible to change the bridge on this oud to a fixed one?
Can I do it myself?
Thanks!

The brace systems for fixed and floating bridge ouds are different. So it is not a good idea to fix a floating bridge.

It seems to be a nice floating bridge oud.
So why do you want to change ?

Well I don't like the sound and the strings seem to be very stiff because of the length. I might try lower tension strings and see how it goes.

Well I think I solved this issue by retuning the strings. I tuned the C strings to G, the Gs to D, the Ds to A, and so on. It sounds great now!
