Taqsim MP3 Update
Hey guys,
Ok, I finally updated the Taqsim MP3 Page. Thanks again to Oudman for letting me know that this Farid Ghosn CD was finally available.
Although the quality is not the best, it is important for those interested in the oud. Farid Ghosn was a true master of the oud.
There are many nice CDs now available at Rashid Sales Website. Check them out.

thanks laot mike
finaly i was able to listen to that file (i fixed my sound card problem).
anyway, do u guys remeber when i posted a thread about him before, i was right, this guy is a great oud player.
as i said in the MP3 page, when Farido was working for Badeea`a, F. Ghosn was working there also, and he used to compete with Farid everyday on oud
(and there was another guy with them, i forgot his name).
more info about him, F. Ghosn spend part of his life in south America (i think in Argentina), he was very influced by their style of music (like
tango), and he was trying to use these styles in arabic music (or el moseeq el shrqya), and u can tell from his oud playing that he loved that
style.
he also a composer, and composed one song for Om Kolthoom, but it faild.
anyway, he is defntly one of the best oud players, and u can tell that he has his own style, it is mix between the taqaseem of east (egypt, syria,
lebanon) and the taqaseem of the Iraqi school.
anyone has molre info ??
thanks again mike and oudman.

Hi elrabee3,
Welcome back. I'm glad you fixed your computer problems and can now listen to music again. You are absolutely correct, he did live in Argentina
for awhile and he was definitely influenced by the music of the West. Anyway, here are a couple of files dedicated to you my friend. The one attached
in this post is called "Flamenco Reflections". The other is a small taqsim.
Take care,
Mike
