CHEAPEST WAY TO CAIRO?
Can anyone tell me if you know of a cheap way to get to Cairo from Central Europe? Some no-frills airline?
Or... does anyone know a reasonable way to get to Cairo from Istanbul cheaply? Perhaps overland?
I want to get back down there soon to record an album with Mohammed Antar (and do some concerts) but there is no budget - except our own at this
point...
thanks!

Forget about going overland...you are going to spend 4 days to save 10 bucks.
There is a bus Istanbul Damascus, as far as I remember around 24 hours, not so expensive.
Then change to Amman, another one to Aqaba, then the boat between Aqaba and Sinai is quite expensive for the fast one, and you still didn't reach
Cairo...
Moreover visa for Syria and Jordan (I don't know if they are the same price for transit than for 15 days staying).
From France the less expensive are flight from Paris to Sinai, or the red sea coast like Hurghada. As very touristic place there is many charter
flights going there.
Never heard about a low cost company to there, let us know if there is.
For what I've seen before, you may have better prices by looking directly in Istanbul for a flight to Cairo than booking from Europa. Just an opinion,
better to take another opinion before doing that.
Have a nice trip...and looking forward for the recordings!

Thanks so much...
overland might also be better because of luggage - - - instrument and recording gear, CDs etc.
But the big problem are the visa charges!
Anyway I would love to make that journey. Also check out that part of oudland :-)
--wow, those are affordable fares to Syria!
