Oud built 1927
I found this oud at a local flea market and I bought it right away. It was built by Mohamed Tawfeek 10/11/1927.
The previous owner was according to the owner an Iraqi musician who was student at the Bagdad conservatory. The tuning was the Iraqi so I knew at once
that the story was true. The soundboard have probably been replaced and the sound is wonderful and the oud is extremely light.
More photos will be added on my web site.

Nice 3ood!
I can hear its sound of it just by looking at it. It looks like its a very good quality. Do you have any idea on the prices of such 3oods?
What is this place? Is it a factory/school?

Chris, I don't know what this oud's value might be. I'm trying to find out more about the maker and according to a person was the oud
built by the Turkish oud maker Amasyali Mumjuzadeh Mehmet Tevfik of Istanbul. I'll have the oud restored I'm also planning to try gut
strings.
The pictures were taken at the flea market where private persons can sell anything they wish and apparently very old ouds! |
