I'm not sure what you mean, can you make the question a little clearer?
Sheet music includes the rhythms, so are you referring to the pitches only?
The most important thing is that the music sounds right, in most cases the sheet music is merely a guide or a tool to help that process. (although
western music has been progressively tending to treat the printed music as a sort of scripture which is to be followed literally, creating a sort of
fundamentalist mentality among performers and composers. Unfortunately, this trait is contagious and seems to infect others who come in contact with
conservatory training methods).
both pitches and rhythm are important . . . both the correct notes and proper intonation, as well as correct rhythm and precise timing. If you're
playing by yourself you can get away with some rhythmic imprecision, but to play with others you have to be more consistent.
