Need some feedback...
What do you all think about these? Which one is THE ONE?

Hey Mike,
I'd say 3 and 4 look too cluttered because of those add-ons near the neck.
Tough call between 1 and 2. I like the balanced look 2 has. Complements the rest of the ornamentation on the face. I don't know, just my #2
cents...

Thanks TP. I wanted to kind of stick with the Concepta look, but I hear you on the overkill that those two inlays might add. The squares around the
big soundhole are much bigger than on the Concepta aslo. Anyway, any other opinions?
By the way, does anybody have a picture of Farido's oud that he's playing in the Awel Hamsa video I have on the site? I thought Sa2a put pictures of
this oud up, but I couldn't find them. I wanted to get a look at the sweat guard that's on that oud.

I was leaning towards number 4, but Jameelo likes 1 or 2 better like you guys. Like I said, I wanted to kind of stick to the Concepta look, but I
agree that it might be too busy. Your feedback is good guys. Who else has any thoughts?

Hey there,
I'm with TP on this one...number 2 is the easiest on my soul. I also prefer the larger wood veneer...reminds me of a certain oud below.
BTW what's on your mind for the fingerboard?
P.S: I posted the picture before you posted your request...looks like we're really in sync bro.

SIDI!!! You are the man. That's the oud I was trying to tell Jameelo about when we were talking about sweat guard possibilities!
THANKS SIDI!!!
Fingerboard is going to be all ivory. Something like this...

Hey Meeka.
I would go with 2 aswell...
the squares turned out pretty large like you say so the extra inlay would be to busy.
How about a combo between 1 and 2 ?
like a large sweat protector and one or 2 inlays in the sweat protector?
sorry for complicating things...

All ivory fingerboard? Like Qasabji's? I thought you were going to go for something like the one Farido has up there (like Khalaf #2).
Love how this is developing, buddy.

Hey guys,
First off, thanks again Sidi! I think Jameelo's gonna have to do some more photoshopping after seeing that oud's sweat guard.
So yeah, maybe a larger sweat guard Samiro! You might be on to something. Dunno about an inlay in it though. Who knows though...
TP, I like how this is developing too. Thanks again for all your feedback fellas!

Uh Oh! now we might have to do another thread about the fingerboard. the one thing i had to get used to on the Concepta was the fingerboard. still
haven't really dug that look though. that's why we decided to go all ivory, but now who knows. might go with vines and doves...
as for this thread and how it's going, i think i'm gonna go with #2...
any other thoughts?

Hi Mike,
Sorry to but in so late, when I looked at the pictures first and before checking the replies straight my heart went with number 2 then realised it's
most pepoles choice too, I love the look of that face go for it mate it's just the one in my humble opinion.
cheers,
Awad

Hi Mike- I'm leaning towards no2.
it's a tough descision!
Do you prefer the sweat protector/arm rest along the bottom edge instead of more along the upper top side edge like in this photo? Is this for your
personal playing style?
Whatever way you go your'e gonna have a killer oud.

Hey Mike,
I like #2 best, but you're the person that will be playing it (and loving it). So you should choose the one you are most drawn to and forget anyone
else's opinion (other than Jameel's of course).
It's going to be beautiful my friend and you deserve it.
Regards,
Greg

I actually like #1 the best . . . my first impulse was #2, but I feel like it's a little too restrained. #1 is just a wee bit over the top, in a good
way--it has some personality. If they were dinner guests, #2 would bring a nice wine and some baklava, while #1 would bring some arak and a shisha .

Hey Mike,
I like #2, but if you're gonna go for an all ivory fingerboard maybe you should consider having the triangles at the bottom or at the top ivory
aswell. I think this would work better as having those would ornamented ones looks too much, but if it was white maybe a different story.
Could you post the four options again with white ivory replacing all the ornamented bits, even the bottom bit on two and four?
Just a suggestion, thoughts?

I like the tile work binding at the edge, especially the left edge. That's class-A work folks.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm tough one...
I find 2 a bit too blunt and a quick add on, as opposed to all the other rigorous fine details, it's better suited to a much simpler plainer oud. I
would definitley go 3! Happy decision making
And is the fully ivory fingerboard locked in Mike? Because the vines n doves would definitely look nice

Hey everybody,
First of all, thank you all for your feedback. I just wanted to report that I am still totally confused. I've probably changed my mind a hundred times
already. The only real decision has been to nix the top 2 inlays. As of this morning though, I'm now leaning more towards number 1 with a dove design
fingerboard. Stay tuned with the actual build thread to see what we decided to go with. In the meantime, sheesha and grey goose. Not a fan of the
arak.
Thanks,
Mike
