Strings advice sought

I have a cheap Syrian oud. I fitted it with La Bella set 80 A and tund it to EADGCF. The strings have a tendency to break when the oud is left alone. Any advice or reccommendations?

I don’t think this set is for F tuning.
Low the tuning to C if the string length is around 60 cm or to D if it’s about 58 cm.
