Need oudist to help me in istanbul please
hello,
I'm almost new on the forum
I'm 22 and play contrabass for 4 years, just begun greek trichordo bouzouki some month ago
I'm now staying in greece for some months (I lived in belgium the last years) and I want to make my dream of playing oud become true
So I have the opportunity to go to istanbul for some days from the 1rst of october till maybe the 5th
The problem is that I don't play oud at all, I would like somebody who coul help me finding one beginner oud one afternoon in those dates
I have a budget between 200 and 350 euros with hardcase if possible
I know I will not have a great oud for this money
I just want something that stay in tune and that has a normal action
I know it's in 2 days but I hope It will be possible for somebody to help me, it would be very cool
please answer me quickly if you can

Hi stos,
The members in this forum they are ver nice guys and helpfull but propelly they dont have a good answer for your question.
350 euros is enough to get good beginner oud. The action in oud is not much different from Greece Bouzouki. So when you buy oud, try to get similar
action to your greece bouzouki.
I never visited turkey before, i am sorry i have no idea bout good shop or where to buy ...etc

Hello
In this budget you can get quite good oud if you take the time to search in music shop.
There is many shops in a street near from Galata tower, and also another place in Istanbul call Unkapanı or Umkapanı, near from an old roman
water bridge.
I don't remind exactly the name of those streets but they are well known there so you can ask for exemple the tenants of your hotel with those
information.

actually I have those information about where to go and search for instruments in istanbul
But, because I don't play oud at all, I thought that it was better to have somebody with me who could help me just make the right choice
