Joseph Tawadros' CD Storyteller
Hey everyone. I'm sure you all remember hearing Joseph's clips on this site (his video is on Mike's Oud Video Clips site right now).
This guy is amazing.
Joseph Tawadros has just released a CD and I wanted to let you all know where to get it from.

As it says on that page, this is his debut CD. From what Joseph has told me, this CD features all of his own original compositions. I'm sure
it's fantastic, and I encourage everyone to get this CD.

Hi TP
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Do you happen to know whether the CD is solo oud, or if it features any other instruments/vocals?
All the best
David

Sorry for the delay on the reply, David. The CD is only him playing solo oud to his own compositions.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you all know that the update to the MP3 Page is from this CD. Joe suggested putting Hallucination on a String, and wants to read your feedback about
it. It is definitely a unique style of playing.
Thanks again TP for the info about this CD. Did you get your copy yet? If so, what do you think of the Storyteller track? Pretty good stuff,
isn't it.

Got my copy yesterday!
This CD is awesome!
Joseph has a very evolved technique but more importantly he plays with tremendous soul!
Hallucination on a string is quite adventuresome, very modern and really pushes the boundaries of what is possible on the instrument. However, it
isn't really characteristic of the rest of the album and it may be simply too "modern" for most.
I'd recommend "The Olive Branch", a Brahem-like virtuoso performance of great music, or the flamenco-esque "Birds of
Paradise" as more representative of Joseph's technical capabilities.
His Taqasim on Rast "Maqam of the Nile" is beautiful, at times reminiscent of Munir Bashir, thoroughly grounded in tradition.
"Storyteller"... all of the pieces are brilliant, all totally solo, no percussion or overdubbing, just great heart felt playing!

recieved cd
Hello all, Ive been a fan of the website for a while, thanks Mike. Finally registered and have something to say. After the Joseph Tawadros Mp3 you
had, I decided to order the dsic and have just recieved it. It is really awesome, Storyteller is one of my favourites and he there is some really
great intricate playing on it. I think Lee sums it up quite well. I personally think that it is amazing for someone this young to produce such a
brillant solo ouud disc, Im enjoying it and I think it is one of the best solo discs as it shows alot of different styles. Thanks again for bringing
this to my attention.
