this is my fhather's oud it was a gift from Catholic priest to my grandfather, the oud was made in sednaya in syria in 1970 the sounboard was replaced
by maurice and it is fantastic

wow- I love that old school syrian style inlay.. it reminds of childhood (i.e. all the things we werent allowed to play with!)

It reminds me of the "taracea", a traditional marquetry with inlaid wood craftmanship, still alive in Granada, Al Andalus.

String length seems big, like more than 60 cm.
Is it a heavy oud?
I though the more decoration the worst the sound, however yr oud sounds nice, so it was a good idea to put the oud in the hands of maestro Shehata
