String-to-Peg Arrangement

Hi

I'm looking for advice on what string-to-peg arrangement to use for the FAdgcf tuning, and while I'm here maybe someone could clarify the question of what strings are best suited to that tuning. My oud is a Shehata, and while some say that Aquila are superior, others argue in favour of Pyramid lute strings, or LaBella, or Aquila copper-wound lutes. I know it's largely a matter of taste, but I'd be grateful for any enlightenment.

Thanks

See this for the arrangement: http://www.mikeouds.com/messageboard/viewthread.php?tid=2940#pid190...

Dincer uses a very similar pattern (2 high courses are switched) and it works quite well. String your oud very neatly and it will cause less problems.

Thanks Jameel

That's pretty close to the arrangement I have at the moment - I probably got it from that thread in the first place, only to forget where I found it ! These things happen with age.
