Student looking for good Turkish style oud

Hi everyone,

I have a student in NYC looking for a good Turkish style oud to buy.

If anyone has any instruments to recommend, I would appreciate it.

Take care,

mavrothis

Thanks Matthew,

I would prefer an instrument owned by someone here, in case he decides not to order directly from an oud maker.

Thanks,

mavrothis

Hi you should contact Peter Kyvelos at Unique Strings in Belmont Ma his number is 1-617-489-1254, he usually has very nice ouds for sale.

Dude....you could also contact Haig Manukian, he does repairs, etc. I don't have his number, but somebody else might. Good luck.

Regards...Paul

Duh...you live in NYC, you play oud, of course you already know Haig...probably know Peter S. Kyvelos too. Noticed in your opening post -- you asked for ouds we could recommend....eesh. New Years Resolution to paul: read posts carefully:rolleyes:

I am familiar with Mr. Turunz's work very well, thank you. My student is on a lower budget - it's his first oud, and he doesn't have experience with any other instruments.
