Floating bridge location


hey guys
i have a question about the distance and location of a floating bridge .

while changing the strings in my sukar oud the bridge has moved from his place and i don't know exactly where is the right position from it
can any Buddy help me please

You can know the good location by playing notes at the exact junction of the neck with the bowl.
Putting the middle of the extremity of your finger on this junction will give you the 5th exactly when the bridge is at the good location.
And like this for the 6 strings.
I mean for a tuning in Fa, you get the Do at this junction.

the bridge should be located at 2x the length of the fingerboard. e.g. if your fingerboard is 20cm the bridge should be at 40cm

are you shure with 40cm katakofka

isn't the string length of a syrian oud 61,5 cm from the bridge to the nut?
on my cankaya ouds it is 58,5 but those are turkish ones

I am not a rockect sciencetist ....... :) , so i will explain it to you in the simple way !!

It will be between 58.5 to 60 cm from the nut

well people the neck length is 20,5cm that means it should be about 61,5cm from bridge to nut
and i have tryed what you said suz_i_dil and it was exact

mourad you should hear it now with the new strings its fantastic
