how to install a pick-up on a oud?

hey guys...i m havin trouble installin a pickup on my oud...any suggestions??? i recently perform a instrumental oud here in my country and d sound from d microphone was bad! pls help me on dis..i kw they do sell a electric oud but i m on a budget..so any suggestions??
